1. Terms of use

What we provide. SurpriseKart lets you choose a template, personalise it in a browser-based editor, and order a hosted surprise website for a chosen live duration. Optional add-ons include custom domains and extra photos. Publishing is performed by our team after payment.

Who can order. You must be at least 18 years old, or use the service with the consent of a parent or guardian. You confirm that you have the right to use every photo, video, text and name you upload, and that the people shown have consented to appearing on the website you create.

Orders and payment. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR). Payments are processed by Razorpay and may include UPI, cards and netbanking. Your order is confirmed after successful payment. Published websites are delivered within the stated timeline, usually 24 hours.

Live duration. “Ek Din” websites stay live for 24 hours. “Dus Din” websites stay live for 10 days from publication. “Hamesha” websites stay live for as long as SurpriseKart operates the service. We may discontinue a product or the service with reasonable notice; lifetime plans are not a guarantee of perpetual operation.

Photos. Each plan includes a photo limit of 4, 10 or 20 photos. Extra photos are charged at ₹9 per photo and are calculated from the photos present in your saved design at checkout. Photos are compressed for performance.

Custom domains. Custom domains are available with the Dus Din and Hamesha plans and are registered through third-party registrars for one year at a time. Availability is confirmed after payment. If your preferred name is unavailable, we will offer alternatives or refund the domain amount. Domain renewals, if any, are charged separately. Domain fees are non-refundable once registered. You are responsible for complying with the registrar’s terms.

Publishing and updates. Changes made in the editor are stored as a draft in your browser. To publish a draft or later changes to a live website, share the updated draft with support; we aim to apply updates within 24 hours. The public site is hosted by our infrastructure providers, which may change from time to time.

Your content. You keep ownership of your text and photos. You grant SurpriseKart a limited licence to host, display, reproduce and transmit that content for the purpose of delivering and supporting your website. We do not use your personal photos or messages in our marketing without your separate permission.

What you may not create. You may not use SurpriseKart to create content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, or that impersonates another person; content involving minors in a sexualised manner; non-consensual intimate imagery; malware; or spam. We may refuse, suspend or remove any website that violates these rules, and report unlawful content to the relevant authorities.

Our designs. Templates, illustrations, animations, code and branding remain the property of SurpriseKart. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the templates themselves, or use them to build a competing service.

Availability. We work to keep the service fast and online, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, and third-party outages (hosting, domains, payment providers) may affect the service.

Liability. To the extent permitted by law, SurpriseKart is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of content, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts in India.

Changes. We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

2. Privacy policy

What we collect. Your name, WhatsApp number, order details, recipient name, occasion, chosen template and plan, domain choice, and any messages you send to support. If you upload photos and text in the editor, those files are stored in your browser until you share them with us for publishing.

Notes you send us. When you use the “Leave a note” form, we collect the name, email address, note, optional topic, your consent choices, the page you sent it from, and a hashed IP address used only to prevent spam. Notes are stored in our database (Supabase) and emailed to us through Resend so we can read and reply. We keep them until your query is resolved and for up to 12 months afterwards for our records, unless a longer period is required by law. If you tick the testimonial box, we may publish your note with your first name only; you can withdraw that permission at any time by emailing support.

Payments. Payments are handled by Razorpay. We receive payment confirmation and identifiers, but we do not store your full card number, CVV or UPI credentials.

How we use it. To personalise, publish and support your website; to confirm domain registrations; to process payments and refunds; to respond to you; to keep records required by law; and to improve the product. We do not sell your personal data.

Where it is stored. Drafts and your last order are saved in your browser’s local storage. Published websites are hosted with infrastructure providers such as Vercel. Payment data is processed by Razorpay. Domain registrations are processed through registrars. Notes sent through the website are stored in Supabase and delivered by Resend. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of the request. Some providers may process data outside India.

How long we keep it. Published websites remain available for the duration of the plan you purchased. Order and payment records may be retained for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Drafts remain in your browser until you clear them or reset the editor.

Your choices. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data by contacting support with your order ID. We may need to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained for legal or accounting reasons. You can clear drafts locally by resetting the editor or clearing your browser storage.

Cookies and tracking. We do not use advertising trackers on the site. We use browser local storage for editor drafts and order details. Third-party providers (Razorpay, hosting, Google Fonts) may set their own technical cookies or process request data as described in their policies.

Children. The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child’s data has been shared with us, contact support and we will take appropriate action.

Security. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please avoid uploading sensitive documents such as identity cards or financial information.

3. Refund policy

Before publishing. If you cancel before your website is published, you are eligible for a full refund of the amount paid, except for domain registration fees that have already been incurred. Payment gateway charges may be deducted where they are non-refundable.

After publishing. Because a personalised website is a digital service delivered to you, payments are non-refundable once the website has been published, except where required by law.

If we cannot publish. If we are unable to publish your website within 7 days of your order (and the delay is not caused by missing information or content from you), you can request a full refund.

Domains. Domain registration fees are non-refundable once the domain has been registered. If the requested domain is unavailable, the domain portion of your payment will be refunded or adjusted against an alternative.

Problems with your site. If something is broken or not as described, contact us within 7 days of publication with your order ID. We will fix the issue or, where a fix is not possible, discuss a fair resolution.

How refunds are processed. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–7 working days, subject to Razorpay and bank processing times. Please contact us before raising a chargeback so we can help resolve the issue quickly.

4. Contact

For order support, privacy requests, domain questions or refunds, use the Leave a note form on the homepage with your order ID. We aim to reply within 2 working days.
